Himachal Pradesh’s forests, water sources and biodiversity are closely connected to community life. Caring for them takes informed local participation over time.
Harit Himachal aims to support environmental education, suitable plantation activities, care for planted saplings, waste-management awareness and community conversations about conserving natural resources. Schools, village groups and volunteers can take part in activities suited to their area.
Where plantation is undertaken, the Foundation should select appropriate sites and species with relevant guidance and make a plan for watering, protection and follow-up. Campaign updates can record the planting date, location, number of saplings and later observations. This gives supporters a more meaningful picture of the work than a planting-day photograph alone.
Planting begins the effort. Continued care gives it a chance to grow.
